New Real Flowers Paintings

A new collection of mixed media works from my Blooming Marvellous series made with acrylics, resin and real dried flowers as shown at Manchester Art Fair.

In this body of work, pressed flowers are delicately placed against an abstract background, creating a visual dialogue that explores the themes of beauty, life, and the inevitability of transformation. The vibrant colours and fluid shapes of the abstract canvas embody the dynamic nature of human existence, symbolizing our ongoing journey of change and metamorphosis in nature.

Each dried flower captured in its pristine state serves as a poignant reminder of life’s fleeting moments, showcasing nature’s exquisite beauty while also hinting at its eventual decay. As time progresses, some of the flowers may evolve, mirroring our own transformations as we navigate through different stages of life.

This work is not just static, it’s an evolving narrative that invites viewers to reflect on their personal experiences of growth and change. While the abstract background will endure, the flowers represent the ephemeral nature of life, reminding us to cherish each moment. This piece truly encapsulates the delicate balance between permanence and impermanence, inviting contemplation and appreciation for the beauty in both.
